Windows Phone 7 Series will not mulitiask, it will mimic iPhone's OS

Engadget is reporting that Microsoft will not allow 3rd party application to multitask in Windows Phone 7 Series. Microsoft will however let Microsoft created Windows Phone 7 Series Phones applications to multitask. It will allow applications like Zune Player, and Internet Explorer to run in the background. Sounds like Microsoft is trying to mimic the stance Apple has taken when multitasking in iPhone OS. This is 100% lame.

Here we go again, no copy/paste in Windows Phone 7 Series
Microsoft has confirmed that there will be no copy and paste in Windows Phone 7 Series. Microsoft claims: "people don't do that". People don't do that?? Apple took so much slack for not including copy/paste until the 3rd version of iPhone OS. Microsoft has been using copy and paste in all previous versions of Windows Mobile (except some versions of non-touchscreen versions). I guess all those years of people using copy and paste in Windows Mobile never really used it. Microsoft get ready for some bashing from people who have actually used copy and paste. Maybe you should revisit how Apple got slammed for not including this very necessary feature until they finally added it into iPhone OS 3.

Microsoft's own Windows Phone 7 Series delayed until 2011
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Apple (AAPL Quote) did it. Google (GOOG Quote) did it. Now it's Microsoft's (MSFT Quote) turn.

The Redmond, Wash., software giant is working with computer hardware manufacturer Asustek to build its own phone.

The planned device is a so-called candy bar touchscreen design running on Microsoft's newly introduced Windows Phone 7 operating system, says Northeast Securities analyst Ashok Kumar, who talked with Microsoft's suppliers and design partners.

Unfortunately, Microsoft and Asus have encountered some setbacks on the road to manufacturing the next Apple iPhone killer or Google Android annihilator.

Production of the phone has been stopped temporarily. "The phone is still alive," says Kumar, but its arrival to the market will now probably be put off until early next year.

The news comes just four days after Microsoft announced -- at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona -- that its Windows Phone 7 operating system will be available on the some phones by Christmas.

Kumar says he hasn't heard what caused the Microsoft phone delay, but he speculates that if it's a software issue, it could apply to other hardware developers and spoil the Christmas timeframe promise.

Microsoft isn't content with renaming future Windows Mobile operating systems, now they're going back in time
Microsoft loves to change the names of their mobile operating system when they announce an update to Windows Mobile, as evidenced by the graph below. Microsoft is now going back in time and is renaming the current Windows Mobile 6.5 OS to "Windows Phone Classic". This name change will occur when Microsoft releases "Windows Phone 7 Series". You'll have from now until the holiday season to call your current Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone, Windows Mobile 6.5. When Windows Phone 7 Series ships you'll have to call your Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone "Windows Phone Classic". Very clever Microsoft, very clever ;)
