  Passwords Plus Gets Leopard Compatibility

One of the Palm OS software packages that I use every day is Passwords Plus from DataViz. Earlier this month, DataViz released a Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard update for Passwords Plus 1.006 customers.

The latest update to Passwords Plus is compatible with both Palm Desktop 4.2.1 and Mark/Space The Missing Sync (you'll need version 6.0.2).

The Passwords Plus patch download link and full installation directions can be found on the DataViz website.

I'm happy to see that DataViz is still actively supporting their software on both the Palm OS and Macintosh platforms. It shows that DataViz is still committed to their customers who are part of the Palm and Apple user communities. By making this upgrade available, DataViz has helped make my transition back to the Macintosh (from Windows XP) a little bit easier.

Mac Mini to be replaced by Mac Nano?
CNET is reporting that Apple might be killing off the Mac Mini, and will be introducing a new "Mac Nano" to replace the Mac Mini. The Mac Mini hasn't seen any significant updates since it was released over 2 years ago.

"Overall volume will be shrunk almost 25 percent, weight by about 20 percent, and an all-new enclosure will be strikingly different from the design that has been the Mini's defining feature since its introduction," according to the report."

PC World reviews new iMac: Editor's Choice

PCWorld has reviewed the latest iMacs, and they really like what Apple has done to revamp the iMac line.

"Sleeker and thinner than the previous iMac. More recyclable materials. Energy Star 4.0. Still the all-in-one standard. Same reduced number of cables. Powerful, even in Windows Vista with Boot Camp. Up to Core 2 Extreme and 1TB drive available. iLife 08 suite is improved and still standard. Good price."

"Finding any drawbacks to the newest Apple iMac is so hard it's almost like splitting hairs. The new aluminum iMac is a desktop nonpareil in both senses of the word: It is without equal, and (like the candy) it is sweet."

iLife '08 in hand, and my run in with the new iMac

I decided to take a trip to my local Apple Store to pick up a copy of iLife '08. I also had the chance to play around with the new iMac. The new iMac isn't anything revolutionary, it's basically a thinner version of the "old" iMacs. With that said, the new iMac is very thin, and the glossy screen just pops out at you, it's gorgous. The keyboard is ultra-thin, looks great, and feels great. Apple is selling the new USB keyboard for $49, and a wireless version for $79. It'll look great with an old iMac, and Mac Pro. I plan on getting one soon. It's a nice face lift to the current iMac.

I'm installing iLife '08 as I type this, and will post some first impressions. Stay tuned.

iPhone now has "Send to Web Gallery" enabled

Over @ my other site iPhoneology , Reggie has figured out that your iPhone can now send images from your iPhone directly to a .Mac Web Gallery from the iPhone Photos app. It looks like Apple unlocked this feature without any of us realizing it. Great find Reggie!!!

You obviously need to be a .Mac member in order to do this. I was surprised when I tried it out on my iPhone and saw "Send to Web Gallery" as an option. Now I just need to go buy iLife '08.
