This wouldn't be the first time for Palm licensed its own operating system to other manufacturers. Back in the day Palm licensed Palm OS to a handful of big companies while still selling PDA's running Palm OS. Palm did very well with licensing, and there were some big names in the list. Sony, Acer, Garmin, Fossil (watches running Palm OS), Handera, Handspring (original creators of Palm OS and Treo smartphones), IBM, Kyocera, Lenovo, and Motorola to name a few. Here's hoping Palm bounces back.
