Palm has a micro blog setup for CES

From Palm PR:

Details for Posting to Micro Blog

We're using Six Apart's Typepad blog hosting solution for the CES 2007 micro blog. In order to post to the micro blog, you'll need to sign up as a "guest author."

Here's how:

Just shoot an email to microblog@palm.com and request "guest author" status. You will receive an invitation via SixApart. If you are or even if you aren't an account holder of Six Apart, it's the same process. Non-account holders will need to click on "register for free" and set up an account with a username and password (took me less than a minute). After accepting the invitation, you'll be directed to your "weblogs" tab. The CES 2007 micro blog should be listed and you'll also receive a registration confirmation via email after signing up. To access the system going forward, log in with your username and password.

Once your "guest author" account is activated you can begin posting and sharing your experiences with fellow CES attendees--and those who are unable to attend the show--by moblogging updates from your Treo smartphone, other mobile devices or the old fashioned way from your PC. Remember, any topic (almost) is game as long as it's related to CES 2007 and follows the simple rules that were included earlier (in case you need a refresher, here they are again: http://palmmicroblog.typepad.com/ces2007/2007/01/blogging_rules.html). This is the first shot at winning a free Treo smartphone.

Activation of "guest author" accounts will begin tomorrow morning (Jan. 5, 2007).

If you plan to blog from the show floor but don't feel like lugging around your laptop, here's a link to download Six Apart's Mobile application so you can moblog: http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/tmdownload.html.

We look forward to reading about all the action at CES.

I have to commend Palm for really getting into the blogosphere. The great thing about this micro blog is you can post up to date CES information, while also getting the chance to win a new Treo Smartphone.

From PalmAddict: The Palm Addict Best New Website goes to Gadgets On The Go. There are many Gizmodo and Engadget copycats but this is a very good site that follows technology with a great Mac presence.
