Palm Treo and Symbian Treo in the works, confirmed

I just heard from a ***very reliable source*** that there is indeed a new Palm Treo and a Symbian Treo in the works for both CDMA and GSM networks. This would be wise for Palm , as this would make them a player/provider for all three of the major Mobile Operating Sytems. Could this be the revolutionary next big thing going on at Palm that Jeff Hawkins recently mentioned?

I never believed the Symbian Treo rumor that came out over a week ago, but this person told me that there is in fact a Symbian Treo. I knew we would see a new Palm OS Treo. This reminds me very much of how Steve Jobs announced the shift to intel processors. Apple had made sure OS X ran on intel processors with each release, just in case. Could Palm be doing this with their Treo, not processor wise, but Operating System wise?

It makes me believe the Symbian Treo even further now. If Palm could "Treo" Windows Mobile, I am sure they could "Treo" Symbian, and we already have gotten to experience how well they can "Treo" Palm OS. I am trying to get more information, and I am VERY thankful to my source for sharing this with me. Stay tuned.

Comments:
This would finally explain the logic behind the Treo name, since it would handle all 3 major operating systems.

As a Palm user for many years and a current Treo 650 user, I'm wondering if my current Palm Treo 650 unit will be compatible with the Windows Mobile OS when it is released? I'm doubting it?

That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while... and it's not even April 1st!!

The real question is why you'd want it. At the end of the day, the palm hardware sucks somewhat - it's not particularly full featured, and the physical design is gawky. The real value is in the power that palmOS brings to the phone functions, and particularly, the possibility of turbo-charging the basic phone functionality with downloadable apps.

Yeah, and I have 1,000 acres of swamp land in Arizona for a price that you can't pass up. This rumor is about as bad as the one about Palm writing it's own OS based on Linux.
Colligen just spoke publicly in opposition to this Symbian rumor. If he's lying, he could be arrested. Aint gonna happen boyz. :-)

Well done!
